Well......since I have never managed to fix that damn 3.0 engine, I'll buy a diesel....or hunt up another flathead merc v8 and repower the thing ...but then although I love the truck, I hate 6t cyl engines.

If I want a new Ranger after December, then I'll just swap a 4.0, built 5R55E, a D35, and a transfer case in my 03. Voila, new truck.

I saw a new design Ranger yesterday. It had manufacturer plates on it. I passed it on west bound M-14, just west of I-96 in Plymouth, Michigan. Then it passed me on the off-ramp to Sheldon Rd, right in front of the old Ford Sheldon Rd air conditioning plant (now a Automotive Component Holdings plant-still owned by FoMoCo).
My point is that since they are testing the new Ranger on US roads, maybe they will sell it here.
It looked bigger and had a front end that reminded me of the new Explorers, not a good look in my opinion. I think they have turned it into a unibody car with a tailgate and a open trunk, like that Honda so-called truck.

So North American people will not be able to buy a Ford Ranger but everyone else will!

FORD is your friend and would do nothing to loose your business. Yea, right!

Ford will always keep our business, there's a reason they poorly designed the valve body gaskets and separator plates in the automatics, the chain assemblies in the early SOHC 4.0's, the cam syncs in the 1995-2008 3.0, and the slave cylinders in the M5 Manuals.

At least, that's just what it seems like.

2016 Rangers??

I hear lots of talk on the internet of the Ranger coming back to the USA
in 2016 but can't find any hard facts. Does anyone know of any facts about
a new Ranger. I'm driving a 2002 and love it but I'm trying to hold out from
buying again until the new Ranger. The F-150 is just too big for what I want
and I'll only buy a Ford....but I don't want the Explorer/ Sport Trac.

find the best looking one you can afford and keep it running, repower if nessasary. my '93 is approcing 175,000 miles. id kinda like to find a early one and put a flathead 4 cyl in it, one from a '39-'52 "N" series ford tractor...just for fun.
