Will guys the oil mistery is fixed I bought this truck with 123K on it. any way the oil tube to the pump was field with gunk no oil was flowing. change the pump just incase put 10w 30 "the good stuff" and it runs just fine. Thanks everone
Note for those newly reasearching this "better idea" : The oil pressure "switch" wiring that feeds they guage routes through the fuel sender "slosh box" on newew models (such as my 2002) which moderates fuel system fluctuations. Probably has some effect on the oil sender as well.
Thanks for the good replies. I looked for my sending unit where Rogue Performance said it was, behind the right cylinder head and I couldn't find it. At Rogue's website there is a good photo showing the sending unti from behind the engine with the transmission removed. Do you have to remove the tranny to see it? I've change them before and this one looks what I remember, but I can't seem to find mine? Do I just need better glasses?
It's behind the passenger side head next to the cam position sensor which looks like a mini distributor.
