Factory rearview cam on demand (switched)
I posted a long while back asking if anyone has tried to run the factory rearview camera through an upfitter switch so it could be seen even if not in reverse. Received a reply to the effect of locating the reverse sensing wire for the camera, install a diode and then connect the switch. I'm not that savy with electronics and really couldn't figure it out from that explination.
Thought I would see if anyone has done this yet and if so is there a better description of how to do this. I posted this request also in the camera, nav section but thought this would be a great place as well due to the level of knowledge and expertise here. Mine is a 2009 F-350 SD.
Any help? This would be cool and shouldn't be all that difficult or so I would imagine.

ITs probably really simple if we knew which wire to cut. All you need to do is determine the power wire to the camera (which runs under the dash or through the headliner) and run it to your switch. Not sure why you need a diode unless you are still planning to leave it connected to your reverse lights as well. In that case, yes you need a diode.
Anyone have the wiring diagram?
