Went up an extra inch - ICON TEI Spacer Install

When I put my truck back to stock, it sat right at 2" higher in the rear. Thats right about where a F250 sits when you buy it new. Its been driving me crazy looking at the rear end up higher. I know from pas experience that I dont want it to sit level because when they sit perfectly level, they look like they are squatting to me. So I decided if I put a 1" spacer in the front it would be abut 1" higher in the rear and would be perfect. So I picked up a 1" TEI spacer. I threw it in today and it sits exactly where I wanted it to. It actually ended up being right at 3/4" of an inch higher in the rear. From the ground to the center highest point of the wheel opening is 41.75" on the front and 42.5" on the rear. Exaclty where I wanted it. Next step is to pick up a set of ICON 2.5" Leveling Kit Coils and cut a coil or so (will take some experimenting) off to get it exactly where it is now except with the ride of the ICON dual rate spring.

Anyway..enough chit chat...here are a few pics after installing the 1" ICON TEI spacer today:

Remember, when you cut a coil spring you INCREASE the spring rate, making it ride stiffer.

Looking good! My 250 squats in the rear. Or, at least it looks like it. I haven't measured. One of these days I'll get around to fixing that.

What did I miss? You use to have an 5.5" or 8.5" Icon lift kit with 37" tires... I saw your truck for sale on either Craigslist or AutoTrader.

Lol

I bought the truck brand new, went to 2.5" leveling kit, to 4.5" Icon, to 5.5" Icon, to 7" Icon, to 8" Icon. I also did a 08 rear leaf spring conversion on it. I pulled everything off (except the 08 spring cinversion) with intentions of selling the truck. I didn't get many serious offers on it. In the meantime I really enjoyed driving the truck more. I upgraded my stereo system, picked up a set of 20" Harley wheels, and added a SCT with custom tunes from Gearhead Automotive. I absolutely love my truck now. Drives good, pulls good, loads easier, fits in parking garages and carwashes and gets better fuel mileage.

Ha! Well, at least you can say that you've been there and know what a lifted truck is all about.

I decided, after several people advised, not to cut any springs. I like it where it sits now, and it rides good.
