Could my random missing and blue smoke along with the missing be caused by bad injector o rings. My truck was missing and blowing smoke this morning when eventually died. I pulled off to the side of the road put it park and tried to start it. It just cranked, the rpm gauge did move (I'm assuming the cps is good). I changed the settings on the chip and cycled my ignition a couple times and then tried to crank it and it fired right up with no problems.
I'm gonna scan it tonight or tomorrow it seems like it only misses and stalls when it's cold in the morning
Scan it and check for codes, in my case I had a lope when my engine was hot running around the city. turned out I had bad injector o-rings but it never killed the engine. you will get fuel in your oil if it gets real bad.
First start with unplugging the harness at the valve covers and check to see if anything is burnt. Then you could remove valve covers and inspect for anything burnt inside.
Another possible cause could be the IDM. you can unbolt is and shake it and listen for water. That kinda thing does happen.
