2000 Expedition bypassing the auto-4x4 to make it 2x4?
We have a 2000 ford expedition eddie bauer. Its 4x4 selectors have 4x4auto, 4x4hi, and 4x4low. The hull sensors keep acting up kicking it in and out of 4x4 even were just driving on pavement. We want to bypass those hull sensors or something so we can just strictly have it in 2x4 like regular package trucks like my uncles. Anybody know what im talking about or have any suggestions?

Remove the 30 amp fuse #104 from the under hood fuse box. It's okay to leave it out, you just won't have 4WD even if you turn the selector switch, unless of course you first put the fuse back in. Some have gone so far as to setup a switch on the dash to flip from inside the cabin.

Because maybe for either time or financial reasons he is not able to fix it for the moment. Pulling the fuse will allow the truck to be driven until it can be fixed. My guess is that he's just going to need a set of 4 matched tires to solve the problem anyway...that or a wheel sensor.

I was just asking the question.

we have all four of the same tires on it. turns out that the front and rear tires are supposed to have different tire pressures (door jam says so) supposed to run one set with 5lbs less pressure than the other. We adjusted that and now it does just fine. no more jumping in and out of 4x4.
