Ride Along with Ford’s Raptor Team at Baja (Video)
Ford’s latest Raptor team VR video lets us live out our off road dreams.
For many of us, simply spectating at the Baja 1000 would be a dream. Participating in the legendary off road race, on the other hand, is merely a pipe dream for most. But thanks to Ford Performance’s latest virtual reality video, we get an unprecedented look into this year’s Raptor team and their historic Baja run. Even if you’re not exactly a big off road buff, it’s worth a look.
If you’re unfamiliar with the new Raptor’s run at Baja this year, there is quite a story behind it. Raptor team driver Greg Foutz drove a nearly stock truck across the grueling 854.8 mile loop and finished. And then he drove the thing 400 miles home to Arizona. Pretty darn amazing for a truck almost identical to the one you can buy at your local Ford dealership.
This video takes you along for the ride, but it also delves into a little bit of detail behind how the Raptor got to Baja in the first place. From the assembly line to the desert, you get a 360 degree view of quite a range of surroundings. The whole six plus minute video is theatrical, dramatic, and over the top. And pretty darn cool.
