Times Change for the 2015 Ford Mustang

As iconic as the 2015 Mustang is, it might not be as iconic as The New York Times. It seems, though, the Mustang is going to outlive the Automotive section of their Sunday print edition.

They’re still writing about cars online, but if you’re looking to read about cars while sipping your Sunday morning coffee, you’re going to have to power up the iPad.

As a seemingly fitting sendoff, the last print review that ran in The New York Times was the review of the 2015 Ford Mustang.

Like many reviews for the Mustang, theirs talks about how lovely the V8 GT version is, especially when equipped with the manual transmission and the track performance package.

Reviewer John Pearly Huffman also laments that the 2.3L EcoBoost doesn’t have more theater about it. Turbocharged engines typically muffle some of the engine noise, and we know Ford is augmenting the engine noise by way the the stereo.

I agree that the V8 is the way to go in the Mustang, any Mustang, but I’m sure there’ll be people who find the EcoBoost appealing.

As an enthusiast, I’m sad to see the decline of print media. Growing up, I remember reading every auto review in every print magazine or newspaper that I could.

I’m definitely nostalgic for those days. But the Internet has opened the door for all different sorts of enthusiasts, catering to every niche. Thankfully, The New York Times is keeping their online section, and I wish everyone there the best of luck.
