2015 F-150 Marketing Campaign

If you’re watching any of the upcoming college football playoff games, you’ll notice some new commercials from Ford about the 2015 Ford F-150 truck.

Ford announced earlier today that they are starting their most comprehensive marketing campaign ever on the new truck.

These commercials are to feature “straight talk” and target truck buyers where they spend their time; watching sports, driving in their current truck, and online.

“Forward March” is a 60 second spot that’ll appear during the playoffs. It shows off many of the new F-150 features, including the remote tailgate, LED spotlights, and the 360 degree camera system.

“Move It” is all about the towing and hauling capacity of the 2015 Ford F-150. It boasts the 700 lbs weight savings from the aluminum body construction.

“With less of its own lard to move around, it can move more of yours.” It also boasts the truck’s 12,200 lbs towing capacity.

“What’s Next” is the final in the series, and is a technology and features focused one, showing off the spotlights, camera system, and tailgate we saw in the first extended commercial.

Ford truck commercials, for as long as I can remember, have been straight-forward and tough. It’s important for Ford to get the marketing right on this truck, because not everyone might be sold on the idea of an aluminum body yet.

Educating the consumer, without boring them or wasting their time, is important. That’s what these spots are trying to do. Remember to look for the full 60 second spot New Year’s Day during the playoff games. Expect the others to hit the airwaves shortly afterwards.
