Are you ready for the 2016 Ford Raptor? How about an “EcoBeast” powered one? The North American International Auto Show opens in Detroit very soon and it could be our first glimpse at great things to come.

IMG_6788Carscoops is reporting that Ford filed for the “EcoBeast” name with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on December 22. It was filed under Goods and Services for Automobiles and Automobile engines according to the site.

I recently had the opportunity to test drive a number of the EcoBoost engines from the 2.3L to the 3.5L versions and can only imagine the possibilities for the all-new EcoBeast.

The 2.7L EcoBoost engine in the 2015 F-150 Lariat Supercab 4 x 2 pictured above was a blast around town and until the Detroit show we can only speculate on what the new Raptor will be packing.

Stay tuned for more details that are expected to roll out soon.
