2016 Shelby GT350 Allotments Dolled Out; 2015 Still Unclear
We recently reported that very special versions of the Shelby GT350 and GT350R, wearing a 2015 model year designation, will be made available to select buyers looking for a collectable. But what about regular 2016 model year vehicles? We recently learned that some of the dealerships are learning how many 2016 model year versions they are receiving.
An anonymous dealer source provided us a copy of an email explaining that they’ll be receiving just two of the 2016 Shelby GT350s. There is no word if a GT350R will be made available to them, but we’re assuming no since they weren’t mentioned.
CHECK OUT: 2015 Shelby GT350R and GT350 Extremely Limited
No other details were given, including access to an official order guide for dealerships to start the process. Also, this communication reminded the dealership that this is strictly related to the 2016 model year, and not the limited 2015s.
According to the email from Ford, they wanted to give the dealership a heads up to help manage customer expectations.
With just two units going to this dealership, we are wondering how limited 2016 models are going to be? Will everyone who wants a GT350 be able to get one? That’s yet to be seen.
