Roush F150 Project Truck – The Roush Difference

I fondly remember driving the 2004 F-150 at the press ride and drive before it was in full production. The truck received stares and universal approval as we cruised through the Texas countryside, stopping for meals and drinks (non-alcoholic of course!) along the way. The truck was a real head turner. Well, with 2 years of production under its belt the current F-150 has become commonplace.

Enter the Roush F-150:

The Roush F-150 takes the F-150 to a whole new level. Everywhere I take this truck people turn to get a better look. Drive-through attendants chat with you about it, strangers ask how I like it and best of all, my son thinks I’m driving a race truck!

The Roush F-150 takes it even further by lowering the truck 2-inches in the front and 3-inches in the rear with replacement coil and leaf springs; and new shocks, plus a beefier sway bar. The end result is a pickup that handles surprisingly well, corners predictably and snaps tightly without large body roll during quick maneuvers.

The lower, more aggressive look is complemented by Roush’s 20 inch chromed 5-spoke wheels, chin spoiler and rear wing. Along with all the other Roush body accents, the overall look is one tough truck that’s not loud or garish.

Around the back, Roush’s dual exhaust with accented tips gives the truck a pleasant, low note which I find very pleasing, especially when I put the pedal down hard.

Open the doors and you’ll see an interior that’s second to none with items you just don’t find in most pickups. Custom Jack Roush leather seating sporting Jack’s embroidered signature, brushed aluminum trim kit, Roush Performance floor mats and custom Roush billet aluminum pedals. Combined with the FX4’s already nice interior it gives a ride of luxury. This ain’t your Grandpa’s cowboy Cadillac!

The great thing about Roush Performance is the availability of so many custom options to fit nearly any budget, not just the items we have on our Roush F-150. Whether you’re buying a Stage 3 Roush F-150 at a Roush authorized Ford dealer, or you want to add a few parts to your truck, you’re covered. For those accessorizing their current truck (or Mustang!), be sure to check out http://www.roushparts.com. Tell them we sent you! We certainly enjoy our Roush truck and we’re sure you’ll feel the same about anything you purchase from them.

While discussing this, I’d like to take a moment to compliment Craig "Hootie" Hooten and Gwinnett Place Ford for the excellent service they provided us. Gwinnett Place Ford is a Roush dealer, and we were treated extremely well. If you live in Georgia I recommend you check them out, and ask for Hootie if you get the chance! If you’re into hoops you’re in for some great conversation (he played in college), and he’ll give your business a personal touch not often found in the car business. Between personal and business needs, I’ve purchased 3 Ford’s from Gwinnett Place since 1998 and unless I move I’m likely to buy more from them as well. Expect great personal service (Hootie even wrote a personal letter thanking us). If you’re in the market for a Roush Ford, or any Ford give these folks a call.

What do we have planned for this truck? Well, we don’t want to tip our hand too much so for now we’ll say we have both power and appearance enhancements in the works. Look for our first power article next week, we’ll be adding an intake system.
