This F-150 is the Return of the Sport Truck

The street truck trend died off years ago, but this F-150 is attempting to bring it back.

Bring It Back

It wasn't terribly long ago when people preferred to slam their trucks on the ground instead of lift them and given them big wheels and tires. But the street truck movement came and went pretty quickly, and you rarely see lowered trucks sitting on big rolling stock these days. And while we love that look as well, there's just something to be said for this amazing Ford F-150 that Vossen Wheels was happy to show off recently.

Blacked-Out

Even those who hate lowered trucks can't help but admit that this thing looks incredibly clean. You won't find any crazy paint jobs or shiny stuff here, just a cohesive look that was well planned out in advance. That includes blacking out all the trim, even the Blue Oval emblems. The owner did leave the truck's side fender badges and lighting alone, however.

Big Wheel

The F-150 has obviously been lowered as well, but nothing too extreme. You won't be scraping the underbody every time you drive on an uneven surface, which is always a good thing. Part of that can be attributed to the wheel size of course, as these are a whopping 24" in diameter, with a 10" width at all four corners.

Gimme Sidewall

Despite this, the owner didn't go with some kind of rubber band tire, which a lot of folks tend to do. These actually have a little sidewall to them, which both looks better (in our opinion) and make the ride much more comfortable on the road. And when you're buying a street cruiser like this, that's kind of the point.

Perfect Fit

The result of these selections is a perfect fit, as the wheels and tires perfectly fill up the wheel wells with a little gap, and they also sit flush instead of sticking in or out. The design of the Hybrid Forged HF6-2 wheels itself is rather clean and simple as well, which fits the motif of this truck very well. Just a multi-spoke, concave design with a two-tone finish and nothing terribly flashy.

Truck or Transportation

Of course, a lot of folks will undoubtedly decry the fact that the truck is lowered, and say that it's useless now. But in reality, so is a lifted truck that never goes off-road. The truth is, most truck owners rarely actually use them as trucks, outside of hauling mulch home from the local big box stores on weekends.

Modern Beauty

So we say, do what you want with your own truck. Whether that be to lift it or lower it, and we won't judge. Personally, we're digging the look of this F-150, and appreciate that the owner used a cautious hand when designing it. The end result is something of a throwback but done up in a very modern and attractive way.
