Coolest Camper Around

Campers, motorhomes, and RVs have long been a big part of American culture, mostly because, well, we just love to explore this massive, beautiful country of ours. These mobile living spaces give us the freedom to do precisely that, and many prefer spending time at a campsite rather than in some boring hotel. For those folks, there are plenty of choices out there - new and old - but few are as cool as this vintage Ford-powered motorhome that recently popped up for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

Solid Shape

Officially known as a 1971 Ford Krager Kustom Koach RV, this cool old motorhome is actually in pretty solid shape with just 9,127 miles on the odometer, and it reportedly has a sturdy, rust-free frame and runs nicely to boot. Even the interior looks pretty nice, and the air conditioning works, meaning that the new owner can head out and enjoy the great outdoors right away.

Mostly Drivable

Since purchasing it, the seller has done quite a bit of work to the old motorhome, including replacing the battery, plugs, wires, solenoid, distributor cap, and points, and reports that the engine runs nicely as a result, while the transmission also appears to be in solid shape. However, the brakes aren't working quite as well, and are in need of replacement.

Functional Interior

Stepping inside this vintage machine is like taking a trip back in time, with an avocado-colored interior that's in mostly perfect condition, save for a stain or two here and there. The appliances also reportedly function properly, though they aren't hooked up at the moment.

Plenty of Amenities

Pretty much everything one could want from a motorhome is present and accounted for, including a toilet, sink, shower, a convertible sofa bed, a rotating driver's captain's chair, and two front bench seats that can swivel around or lay flat to serve as a bed. In between the two front passengers lies the Ford V8 engine, which rests beneath a cover.

Some Flaws

As one might imagine, this old motorhome isn't perfect by any means, however. Sitting outside in the elements for many years means that there are some imperfections in the fiberglass panels, and some of the trim - along with the tires - could stand to be replaced as well.

Finding a Home

However, you simply don't see many camping vessels like this out there these days, especially in this kind of solid condition. Unfortunately, this unique find has already found a new home for an unspecified price, which isn't terribly surprising given its many appealing qualities.
