Banding Together

For those of us who love our Ford trucks, there's nothing worse than the possibility of losing that beloved possession - whether it be to theft or an accident. Thus, we can only imagine how the owner of this vintage 1970s Ford pickup felt when it was stolen from the Kamloops Golf & Country Club in British Columbia, Canada some time ago. Luckily for him, however, the community banded together and helped return that pickup to its rightful owner, according to InfoTel News.

Call for Help

The owner of the vintage pickup was out playing golf at that club, but when he finished up and headed to the parking lot, he discovered that it was gone - stolen in pure daylight in the middle of the afternoon. This prompted his step-daughter - Jami-Lynn Delorme - to post pictures of the pickup on Facebook, asking the community to help locate it.

Tracking Them Down

Amazingly, it didn't take long for the community to come through on that request, too. In fact, several people responded to the call for help and noted they had seen the truck around town, which enabled police to track it down and recover it. A resident of Cache Creek - which is around 50 miles away - contacted Delorme to let her know that the thieves had stopped on her property, trying to steal gas to fill its tank, in fact.

Good Outcome

Police wound up finding the thieves and the truck near the Historic Hat Creek Ranch, and perhaps more amazingly, the vintage Ford pickup was in good condition when it was recovered, too.

Group Effort

“It’s his baby,” Delorme said of her stepfather's truck. “He doesn’t drive it in the winter. I’m just really thankful. I’m grateful to everybody who had their eyes out, grateful my stepdad got it back. We don’t even live right in town but everyone came together for us.”
