7 Things to Never Do with your Ford Truck
With a great pickup like the Ford truck, comes great responsibility, here are seven things never to do with your Ford truck.
1. Extreme Lift
There is no debate that raising your Ford truck a few inches can make it look complete, but going overboard is never a good idea. Having an extremely lifted monster truck can only look good, but the disadvantages are countless, from horrible fuel consumption, awful ride quality, to becoming a hazard on the road. Keep your truck relatively close to the ground, and enjoy what the Ford engineers have worked so long on to accomplish.
2. Slammed Stance
An extreme lift is really bad for your Ford truck, but so is a slammed stance; moderation is the key. The second you lower your Ford truck this much, you say goodbye to all of the comforts the Ford trucks usually offer. Whether you use an airbag suspension, or you just cut the springs, nothing can beat the stock suspension of the Ford truck. Not to mention the looks will take a hit as a slammed F-150 never looks as attractive as one with a normal stance.
3. Flames Decal
Must we explain why you should never do this to your Ford truck? If you must know, flames don't look great on a Ford truck, and if you can make flames look good, then you are a unique individual. Nothing can cheapen the Ford truck quicker than some flames from Walmart, so leave it the way Henry Ford would've wanted you to leave it at, without flames.
4. Debate with Chevy Owner
The debate between Ford and Chevy trucks have been going on for decades with no real ending in sight. Even though we all know the Ford trucks are better, simply because the numbers don't lie.and the best-selling F-150 speaks for itself. Debating with a Chevy fan will get you nowhere except headed for the aspirin with a raging headache and nothing to show for your effort but a huge portion of your time. So, just drive away in the Ford truck, the better truck, and let your exhaust do the talking.
5. Say Yes to Everyone
Learning how to say no is crucially important when you own a truck, simply because you will get hundreds of requests to help friends move. If you say yes each time someone asks to borrow your truck, you will be put on hundreds of thousands of miles. This will undoubtedly wear your truck down, and you may even hurt your back in the process because helping them with your truck means you need to do some lifting yourself and not just stand there.
6. Go Without Bed Liner
Even though you may think the truck bed looks smooth without a bed liner, it is a recipe for disaster. The bed liner, or any other bed cover, is there to protect your bed, and if you don't have one, whatever you put in your truck's bed will start scratching the bed, causing the paint to peel, which means rust is inevitable. Be sure to protect your bed, no matter how it looks in your eyes.
7. Tow it All
Some truck owners just tow things with their trucks without thinking twice, but that's not how it really works. Every truck has a completely different towing capacity, depending on the year, model, and packages, so be sure not to ruin your truck's engine because your friend asked you to move his giant boat. Instead, always check the weight of the cargo you're towing, and compare it to the maximum towing capacity of your specific truck.
