Cobra-Swapped 1962 Ford F-100 Is One Slick Street Machine
They don't make them like this anymore.
True Throwback
There was a time, now terribly long ago, when street trucks ruled the earth. Magazines like Truckin' routinely featured slammed, ultra-powerful, custom-painted pickups that many of us grew up drooling over, at least until that particular trend fell out of favor with enthusiasts years ago. Regardless, we still love to see a good old-fashioned street machine pickup, and this wild 1962 Ford F-100 certainly fits that bill.

High Quality Build
This particular build features incredibly high quality in its construction, as well as immaculate attention to detail, which earned it a spot in Ford's booth at the SEMA Show, as well as a feature in Truckin'. That much is immediately evident from the outside, where the slammed F-100 features fiberglass front fenders and a cowl hood with dark charcoal accents and hand-painted pinstriping to complement the Mercedes-Benz Dupont Silver paint.

Custom Pieces
Out back, the bed is made from carbon fiber with Billet Specialties aluminum bed strips and contains huge tubs, which help make room for a set of massive, Pro Street-style rear tires. It also hugs the ground on command thanks to RideTech Air Ride suspension, which puts the smoothed-out body directly on top of the truck's Billet Specialties wheels when called upon.

Modern Cabin
Inside the cabin, the driver and passenger can ride around in total comfort thanks to black Jaguar leather, while they're surrounded by goodies such as Autometer C2 gauges, a custom center console with carbon fiber trim, a carbon fiber instrument housing, Precision Performance Products ratchet shifter, and a tilt steering wheel.

Mustang Power
As good as the inside and outside of this truck looks, it also has something very special under its hood - a 4.6-liter V8 taken from a 1999 Mustang Cobra that's been bored 0.050 over and features 11:1 compression. It's mated to a 4R75W automatic transmission, while Wilwood brakes can bring it all to a stop in a hurry if needed.

Time Machine
Give how special this F-100 is, it's no surprise that the truck has earned so many accolades in its time on this earth. But perhaps more notably, it instantly transports us back to a different time, when we dreamed of pounding the streets in our own wild, custom pickup.
