Standing Out

When the Ford Ranger returned to American for the 2019 model year, it did so looking a lot like, well, the Ranger that has been on sale across the rest of the world for some time now. There's an all-new Ranger on the way in a couple of years, but for now, those looking to make their mid-size pickup look like nothing else on the road can do so by going with some wild exterior updates from Carlex Design.

Menacing Appearance

The Ranger has been a sales hit for Ford since its return to the U.S. lineup, and owners are spending quite a bit of cash modifying their pickups. That has prompted the aftermarket to design and build a slew of parts for the pickup, but few drastically alter the appearance of the Ranger like this new body kit. From the front, at least, it looks absolutely menacing.

Visual Upgrades

The overall design of Carlex's Ranger is a far cry from the stock, inoffensive Ranger. A new grille and bumper are obvious upgrades up front, but there's also a skid plate present to protect the undersides from damage while off-roading. On the sides, Carlex has added large fender flares to cover some meaty tires, as well as tubular running boards and their own custom graphics.

Useful Rack

Out back, there's a cool looking tubular sport rack mounted in the bed that isn't just for looks - it's also capable of holding a spare wheel/tire or whatever gear you want to strap to it - whether that be outdoors sports vessels or something less exciting.

Luxurious Insides

Carlex worked a ton of magic on the inside of the Ranger as well, and the result is a seriously attractive interior that looks quite premium, too. The new seats sport a unique pattern with what Carlex calls "off-road seams," along with some silver stripes and stitching. A little bit of embroidery work shows off who designed and built all this cool kit.

Do It All

Interestingly enough, Carlex is a European company that's involved in a wide variety of activities, including designing and making custom boat interiors and body kits for just about every kind of vehicle on earth. But they also have their own separate truck division to capitalize on the pickup's modern-day popularity.

Unique Whip

They certainly designed and built the most unique looking Ranger body kit we've ever seen, that's for sure. This kit's looks will undoubtedly draw mixed responses, but no one can deny that it looks like absolutely nothing else in existence. At least for now.
