Bonus Built 1950 Ford F1 Looks Classy as Ever
Ford's F1 ushered in an entirely new era in the world of trucks, and this red beauty is one fine reminder of that.
Historical Beauty
In our admittedly biased opinion, no truck in history is more historically important than an early Ford. Particularly the F1, which ushered in a new era of pickups that could serve double duty as workhorses and reliable daily transportation. And if you dig these beautiful, curvy masterpieces as much as us, you'll certainly love this gorgeous '50 that recently crossed the virtual block at Bring a Trailer.

Head Turner
For starters, this particular pickup wears an iconic color combination of red over black that's certainly hard to beat. It underwent an extensive redo from 2005 to 2007, and that work has held up quite nicely in subsequent years. Today, the old Ford looks like it's ready to roll for many more years, turning heads everywhere it goes.

Adding Contrast
The exterior of the truck remains in pretty original condition, yet there are a few upgrades and changes here and there. Nothing that detracts from the old Ford's original charm, however. Black-painted running boards provide a nice contrast, as does a splash of chrome in a few spots.

Welcome Conversions
During the truck's restoration, the running boards, all four fenders, and the tailgate were replaced. The electrical system was rewired and converted from 6-volt to 12-volt, which is always a welcome switch. Finally, the windshield wiper system was converted from vacuum-powered to electric.

Clean and Simple
We're especially digging the 15" steel wheels with hub cabs, which give this classic pickup a cool retro look. That same theme continues to the interior, where you'll find a simple but beautiful cab with nicely painted surfaces and a red fabric bench seat with black vinyl trim, black carpet with red trim, and a gray headliner.

Vintage Mill
Under the hood, you'll find a 60's vintage 302 V8 that only furthers this classic hot rod theme. The seller failed to mention any mods completed on this Blue Oval mill, but we can assume that it's a mild build if nothing else. The engine sends power back through a C4 transmission, making for a great cruising combination.

Unbeatable Combo
With just a few upgrades, this classy Ford F1 manages to retain everything that makes it so great in the first place while also making it more fun and livable to drive on a regular basis. And to us, that's one combination that's hard to beat, both now and years in the future.
