New Year, New Features

Entering its third year of production, the sixth-generation Ford Bronco remains as coveted as ever, which is bad news for those that have been waiting two-plus years to receive the one they ordered. With Ford only opening up order banks to those folks for the 2023 model year, it seems as if that backlog might finally be clear by the end of the year, however. Those folks will also have some new features and variants to look forward to as well.

Heritage and Heritage Limited

The first, and most notable update, is the introduction of the new Heritage Edition and Heritage Limited, which are retro-styled variants that pay homage to the original 1966 model with Oxford White accents and other nifty touches that truly set them apart.

Ordering Limitations

While the Heritage can be ordered by retail customers, the Heritage Limited will only be available for dealers and is also being produced in very limited quantities - 3,932 total units, with 1,966 two- and four-door models, respectively. Those that want one of these Limited Broncos will need to talk with their dealer and try to work out a deal, it seems.

HOSS

Next up, we have the Bronco Wildtrak, which will come equipped with the previously optional H.O.S.S. (High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension) 3.0 system as standard equipment for the 2023 model year. This package includes a set of Fox 2.5-inch internal bypass dampers, the Bronco Raptor's Ford Performance Severe-Duty upgraded steering rack, upgraded inner and outer tie rods, a rear stabilizer bar, and off-road competition-inspired spring rates.

In Between

The inclusion of this particular suspension system helps the Wildtrak make its case for being the range-topping trim among "regular" Bronco variants, as its suspension slots right in between the Sasquatch Package and the heavily fortified setup present in the Bronco Raptor.

Talking Tops

Originally promised to come with a black-painted hardtop in some configurations, that particular feature won't be available for the 2023 model year either, despite some rumors to the contrary. The only Bronco model available with anything other than the black soft top and Carbonized Gray MIC top are the Heritage variants, which come with an Oxford White painted top and can also be equipped with the dual top option that also includes the black soft top.

Color Changes

Other than these changes, the Bronco is also getting a revised color palette for the 2023 model year. Both Cyber Orange and Desert Sand - which were only available on the Everglades in 2022 - have been retired. Meanwhile, Azure Gray and Robin's Egg Blue join the lineup, though the latter is reserved for the Heritage Limited only.
