Stunning, Yet Pricey

Second-generation Ford Broncos are all the rage these days, with plenty of folks lining up to plunk down increasingly large amounts of money to bring one of these big-bodied SUVs home. But even though these old Broncos are quite pricey these days, we still can't help but do some window shopping, which is precisely how we came across this rather stunning 1978 Ford Bronco up for sale at Classic Car Studio.

Bare Metal Build

This particular 1978 Bronco was treated to a full, frame-off restoration around five years ago, and it looks no worse for wear as a result. That process involved removing the body from the frame and stripping it down to bare metal, then spraying it gloss black. The body was then treated to the same thing before fresh coats of blue and white two-tone paint could be laid down.

Riding High

Thankfully, the previous owner decided to keep the exterior mostly original, save for a set of new wheels wrapped with beefy tires, helping it sit high in the air. The previous owner seemingly fitted the big SUV with a lift kit of some sort as well, but the listing doesn't contain any specifics in that regard.

Custom Cabin

Pop the door open, and you'll be greeted by an equally stunning cabin that's filled with attractive, custom-made seat covers, an aftermarket stereo, billet steering wheel, and lots of amenities, including air conditioning, to make this a more luxurious driving experience.

Mild Updates

Though not totally original, the interior of this old Bronco is fairly close, yet features just the right amount of modern upgrades to make it a bit more appealing - and comfortable - to ride down the road in.

Mechanically Speaking

Power for this second-gen comes from a rebuilt 351 cubic-inch V8, which sends power to a C6 automatic transmission, a transfer case, and both front and rear differentials, all of which have also been treated to a rebuild. The powerplant has been upgraded with an Edelbrock carb and intake, an electronic ignition, dual exhaust, and an aluminum radiator.

Compelling Package

With power steering and power front disc brakes rounding out this Bronco's list of upgrades, it's pretty clear that the previous owner had a vision here - to make a second-gen model that can stand the test of time, yet also be reliable and fun to drive. It's a compelling package for certain, but also one with a hefty price tag of $79,900, too.
