I am planning on swapping my single barrel manifold for a 4 barrel. I have HEAD-ACHES on it now...rebuilt 240. I hate them. They don't seal worth a ****.
My question is this...can I use my stock exhaust manifold with a Offy 4 barrel intake???
You sure can Ken, you can use the c series or dual port offenhauser intake with the factory single exhaust manifold. The offy's even come with the holes to bolt the stock exhaust manifold to so you can install them as one.
I do believe like badboy said that there are holes for the stock exhaust mainfold to bolt to. Personally I would just go with a header or the EFI split manifold seems popular as well.
its actually an Edelbrock part intended for the big V8's I guess. I dunno if it actually doing that much on my engine except being there in order to comply with smog regulations, however it is hooked up like the stock setup. The only thing missing is that big tube connecting the exhaust and intake mainfolds. It did pass emissions here in Colorado with flying colors as you see it in the pic. I guess it might affect how the stupid feedback carb's control box operates, but other than that, it is just sitting pretty.

Do you have the part # for your single outlet Cliffy header? What size is the collector flange? I have 2-1/2'' single exhaust from the downpipe & back, set up for future header app. Is that what you have? I've been debating the header/EFI manifold question and one of my concerns is having to do the downpipe fab for dual outlets. Then there's the decibel consideration...personally I prefer QUIET power upgrades.
The EGR plate you have looks like the one I pulled of of my '84 parts bronco w/351 4bbl. It should be functional if its anything like what I've got - except mine is (heavy) cast iron (it also doesn't allow for the stock #6 exhaust tap pipe). I'd be interested in that edelbrock part # too, if you can find it.
I have the same carb and intake setup(holley/offenhauser) and I bought the EFI header downpipe from a junkyard for $25 I had them cut it right before the cat. I then bought reducers to bring the exhaust size to 2 1/4 and ran it out the rear using a cheap $20 Turbo muffler and straight pipe. The truck is very quiet at idle and at freeway speeds yet has lost that wimpy six cylinder tone.
I also was able to simply modify my factory throttle cable bracket and bolt it on one of the intake bolts versus making a new one.
I like the idea. Unfortunately, all the boneyards I contacted want to keep their 300 engines complete w/ exhaust mani's. 'Guess that's one disadvantage of the 300-6, they live too long. Worst case, I buy new ones for about $150. That's when the Hooker Super Comps start looking good.
here is the Cliffy header p/n. 53-2760 I had to look in my old Clifford Catalog because they have changed their site and I didn't see any part numbers. I am still looking for the EGR spacer p/n. BTW, this is the single outlet with qty 2 O2 sensor bungs. I only used one O2 sensor and plugged the other one with my old sensor.
E-BAY always has lots of ford 300 parts. I bought my carb, intake, heated spacer, and exhaust manifolds plus extras complete for less than $350 including shipping from out west.
