Civilian casualties grumble

This will definitely show me to be the callous and cruel person I am. But I have been reading the news and hearing how the Taliban has been moaning that the US and the Coalition attacks have killed hundreds of civilians in Afghanistan.

I am truly sorry for the innocent lives lost and pray for their souls, but heck, when I hear a Taliban official making IMHO a political statement, I just figure to heck(stronger word implied here)with them. I figure they owe us at least 5,000 civilians after NYC. Until that account is paid up I have no sympathy for the Taliban moanings to the media. Besides we are at war and war is usually pretty nasty.

Sorry, it is a bad thought and I don't like the way it makes me feel but that's my opinion. Sorry for getting it off my chest.

Frankly, if Kabul were built with paper houses instead of mud and brick -

I'd say do what Billy Mitchell did!

As it is, I hope they get rained on one way or the other...

By the coverage I saw just after the WTC strike, all of those people were happier than a pig in slop about all of our civilians being massacred. Any sympathy I might have felt was annihilated when I watched those scumbags party in the streets to celebrate OUR dead.

Screw 'em

I dont think we should be listening or believing anything the Taliban says. When I first heard about the 3 UN mine workers who got killed in a attack by us, I immediatly assumed the Taliban killed them and placed them in a building we bombed, to start anti american censent. It wouldn't surprise me if they are doing this with civilians. They are using the media to their attempted advantage, and they will try anything to save their A**es.

GOD BLESS AMERICA !
And for what she stands.

If you are referring to the woman in the street doing the lalalalalalalala !
That was *file film* from 1998.
CNN later admitted to doing this and gave a frank apology to viewers.

If you meant another piece of film with them celebrating I think it is bloody shame that someone take the position of celebrating the demise of a Innocent victim.

It sure seems it's ok when they kill our civilians, but God forbide, some of their people get killed. These terrorist have made it clear that they want every American dead.

We attempt to remove those responsible and our press just eats it up every time the taliban claims innocents were killed. The only reason the taliban says that, is because they didn't get to kill their own people themselves.

Who started this war? In that case it's war and you hit them so hard it hurts. That is war.

There is no evidence being presented by the Taliban to support the insistence that civilians are being killed. They, (taliban) have lied about every aspect of this situation, they are doing that still, trying to get sympathy from the rest of Islam. It is unlikely that the strikes have been as badly aimed as reported. It is a ploy by Islamic Extremists to gather the support of Islam - All of the terror Islamists have used this ploy in every action against them for the last 400 years.

It may just be rumors, but it wouldn't suprise me. Supposedly, the Taliban are tainting the food the US and UN are dropping for the Afgahn releif effort. I heard it on the radio that the Taliban are poisoning the food so any citizens who eat it will die. They would rather see their people die at their own hands than recieve help and aid from the United States. The Taliban, I think, doesn't want to admit that we are fighting terrorism and them, the Taliban, and not the Afgahn people, the Muslim people.

The Taliban make it common practice to hide among the civilians when the bombing gets intense and then they rant and rave that we are killing innocent people. When is the media going to realize that the Talibian could care less about the average Afgan citizen. They could have simply given up Bin Laden and avoided most all of the casualties. I have no sympathy for any of them and I am ashamed that out media fall so easily for their propaganda. They will resort to hiding anywhere they think we are too humanitarian to bomb. I say we level a few Mosques and get em out in the open for the C-130's. I'm sick to my stomach hearing about the loss of their precious civilans. Maybe if enough of them die they will take it among themselves to kill the *******. Until then they will get no sympathy from me.

It is regrettable that some innocents may die in the bombing. Unfortunately I feel there may not be too many innocents over there. While we are teaching our kids how to ride bikes and play baseball, they are teaching their kids to hate and kill our kids. This will never stop until we can separate the generations over there and retrain their children not to hate and kill. We would have to erase their history and heritage and start fresh, but since this is not PC, I suppose this war will continue indefinately.

LAST EDITED ON 27-Oct-01 AT 00:27 AM (EST)[p]The Soviet Union attempted that (principly with the state magazine "PRAVDA" (translation: Pravda=Truth. (A misnomer if there ever was))

And they burned books, and taught complete lies...

Even before the wall fell, they knew better.

Do the Afghani's know better?

~ Good question, I think
