05-07 sealed beam headlights on a 99-04

I’ve seen a million and a half conversions of the 05+ headlight conversions. But never the sealed beam setups. Has anyone ever done this? I do not like the plastic/composite headlights and would much rather the glass sealed beams. I’d do the 99-04 also but like the look of the 05-07 version better. Is the header panel the same between the composite and sealed beams? I know some composites involve trimming on the 99-04 header panels. I assume this would be the same for the sealed beams.

'99-04 sealed beam and composite headlights have the same mounts. The only difference is that the sealed beams have an extra pigtail adapter for the headlights that plugs into the connector you'd plug into the composite headlights. I converted my '99 from composite to sealed beam and all it took was grabbing the bezels, trim rings, and pigtails off of a '99-04 salvage yard truck for about $20. You do not need to replace the side marker and turn signal assembly when doing this as on a '99-04 they are separate from the headlights and will fit with either type of headlight.

I am not sure if there are any differences in converting a '99-04 to '05-07 composite headlights vs. sealed beams. The headlight/side marker/turn signal assembly is one unit on those trucks versus two on the '99-04s so my guess is the conversion is the same as with composite headlights, but that's just a guess.
