5th Gen: Changes by each Model Year

I suggested this topic, and someone else suggested I lead it. So here goes. Please post up any/all changes you are aware of on any of the 5th gen SD trucks, respective to the model year in which it changed. I'll edit this top post, and combine all the info as you post it up. I will try to keep this to primarily functional changes, and leave off most of the cosmetic stuff (eg. wheel styles, paint colors, etc). For starters:

2023:
-Fake Hubs on passenger side of front axle (late 2023 to mid 2024). Function unchanged, but cosmetics are different
-4x4 Standard on XLT and Lariat (4x2 unavailable)
-Side bed steps standard
-LED headlights standard on Lariat & KR
-(optional) Pro Power onboard
-(optional) 360 Camera
-Front Sensing System (Predictive Camera Views) standard on KR, Platinum and Limited
-(optional) F450 40k Gooseneck tow package
-Manual Regen standard on all 6.7L engines
- Tailgate proximity sensors and camera available
-5G Connectivity and WiFi standard
-7.3L have stamped rocker arms (cast for all succeeding years)
-Speakers in headrest deleted after 2022
-Airbag cover on Limited now black instead of color matched Admiral Blue
-More DEF usage (under load) and less EGR. Addition of 9th injector shortens regen cycle times and reduces engine oil dilution

2024:
- Last year for Admiral Blue/Slate interior on limited trims
- Admiral Blue has brushed silver speaker grilles
-6.8L flex-fuel capability added
-Onboard Scales available with XL/XLT
-Tremor available on KR & Platinum

2025:
- Platinum+ package replaces Limited trim
- Platinum+ new interior of Smoked Truffle
- Smoked Truffle has black speaker grilles
- Lariat trim features new, exclusive Active-X interior material (dunno why it was named after Microsoft software....)
- SecuriCode is a dealer-installed add-on, and sits on the door panel instead of the b-pillar
-7.3L non-tremor downgraded to 10R100 trans (10R140 in 2023-2024)
-6.8L standard on XL, XLT, Lariat; 7.3L optional
-7.3L standard on KR & Platinum
-Supercab DRW discontinued
-Supercab Lariat discontinued
-Supercab 148" (short-bed) discontinued
-Black towhooks standard
-Power steering column adjust deleted on Lariat
-Rear seat 12v outlet deleted on 40/console/40 seat
-Back seat ambient lighting removed on Lariat (did anyone ever see it there in the first place? I mean, Ford's implementation in the Super Duty is worse than a Mercury Milan from 2010!)
-Tailgate Down Camera and Rear Park Aid Sensor tailgate deleted
-Front Emblem camera washer removed

2026:
-7.3L Godzilla available without driver assistance package (Optional on Lariat > Platinum)
-Securicode returns to the B-pillar
-Wireless Securicode (I presume it's the 2025 version, because DIO) available for XL
-Upfitter switches optional for Lariat, KR and Platinum
-TPMS standard (up to F550)
-4X2 standard on XLT and Lariat again (first time since 2022)
-STX appearance now available on F350 DRW
-Lane Departure Warning removed from Tremor models

2027:
-6.8L gasoline engine discontinued. 6.7L Standard Output diesel engine discontinued
-Carhartt edition available for XLT models
-Rear Seat Delete optional on SuperCab
-Fleet option for 65mph or 72mph limits
-Digital RearView Mirror (TBD on details, but I'm inferring that it's like the rearview camera like GM has had for many years)
-(optional) F250 High Capacity axle upgrade with 6.7L engine

----
Keep it coming, guys!

sometime between 24 and 25 Ford put dummy fixed hubs on the right side of 4x4 front axles and then switched back to the dual lockable hubs mid 25 sometime.

in 26 the 7.3 was once again available without any driving nannies when the STX became separate from the driver assistance package

I think SCSB was not available for 2025 but became available again in 2026

10r100 became the default transmission in 2025 F250 7.3 non tremors.

You got a ton to cover for 2027.

I believe the late '23's and early '24's got the dummy hub. Mid/Late '24's went back to the selectable hub.

My early '24 (11/23 build) had a dummy hub.

Thanks for the info, gents!

I'll also take any info you have about substantial changes from 2022 (end of 4th gen) to 2023 (innagural 5th gen). I mean styling, sure. But mechanical and other significant changes--would be helpful.

I'll try to get to editing this weekend. Unfortunately, my Isuzu needs a transfer case, and the shop says they're unable to locate one. So that might be where all my time goes. There's labors of love vehicles...and then there's things that are dang near proprietary to a vehicle and less than 5000 were ever sold in the USA. If my 450 ever turned heads like my Isuzu--I might reconsider. But I have to try.

First post updated with a bevy of info. I am making some rule-of-thumb decisions on what to include (or not). So if there's some key feature/function change missing, please let me know. Not all of the year-to-year changes are something Ford puts on the press release. If they revise how their tappets work--they aren't going to publicize that (as an example). So those kinds of mechanical changes I'll have to rely on your info for.

Thanks!
