Midnight Edition?

I have owned my 94 XLT since 97, and I have only found this forum now...damn it!

Anyays, way back when I bought it, a friend of mine thought that it was known as a Midnight Edition XLT. They only came in red and black and everything was coloured, bumpers, handles, etc.

Did this actually exist as an option name? Is it possible that it was only a Canada thing or another regional package?

Thanks!

Not sure about exported models but the only special edition models that I am aware of were the Silver (25th) anniversary models in '91 and the Nite package which was also available in '91 and very early '92. The Silver anniv. model was red on red with color-matched vinyl trim on the bumpers and a red cloth external tire cover with the silver anniv. script silk screened on it. The interior was grey leather with red piping and the "B" posts have medallions reflecting the 25 year anniversary of the model. The red was the ONLY color for the silver anniv. model. The Nite package was all black with a purple and navy blue graphic down the side that ended in the word NITE. The grille was blacked out as well.

Only problem with that theory is that the Sport edition was ONLY available in 96...well in the US anyway.

Yeah, everything is red; the bumpers, top, handles, but the mirrors are still black as is the tire cover. Grey cloth interior, grey carpet. The Ford salesman that I bought it from said the only options that it was missing was leather and a cell phone(?)

When I bought it had a big rear spoiler on the top that I took off when it was painted [and left off since it was too high for my garage]. He also said that came with it originally. I have come to doubt him, but can't be sure.

I have only seen one other that is similar. Only difference was the rubber guard on my front bumper went the whole way around the truck on his.

One interesting difference from other 94s [at least I think it is different] is that it has mass air when all the other 94 trucks around here seem to have speed density.

Bossind had told me this as soon as I met him, even though I didn’t believe him of course ;-)

Grey- had a 95 Sport, friend just bought 94 white Sport- also have dealer 95 brochure with it in there- I'm in Va. USA All 94 and up 5.0 were mass air 5.8 went mass in 96 (except 94-95 calif. and mass. emission 5.8s WERE mass air)Door handles were black though-(in our Ford computor only lists chrome or black)who knows as to what they changed for export-T-5 Mustangs varied as to where they were going.
