Battery Terminal Upgrade Options

I'm in the process of upgrading the grounds, battery participation, and high output alternator wiring based on Jack's superb info on the subject. I feel compelled to upgrade my battery terminals in the process, if for no other reason than to declutter them. My OCD likes these copper terminals from toomakermetalworkz, but my wallet does not at $100/pair.

The other option is the Chinesium 6061 terminal blocks for $20/pair off Amazon. Aluminum doesn't conduct nearly as well and there is always an oxide layer that forms, but these blocks are fairly big with a high cross sectional area. People seem to use them quite often with good results. Are they acceptable for the 6.0 and does anybody have any showstopper concerns with using them? Any other affordable options that I should consider? I like having multiple individual ring/lug connections. Thanks in advance.

That looks pretty good, I just wish it had more connection points.

The only problem I have with the Amazon-type terminals is they dont have a lot of clamping range. Look at the photo and you will see a small gap on the end of the terminal where the screw will draw the terminal tight around thge post. Compare that to the gap on the copper terminals. Also, my Amazon-type terminals came with inserts to help take up space due to the small clamp adjustment range so that adds a layer of possible corrossion or poor conductance. I can't get the negatinve terminal clamp to tightly grab the post. It clamps, but I can work it loose by hand if challenged to. Note the + and - terminals are different diameters.

So, if you want terminals the clamp really tight, don't choose the inexpensive ones.

I use ox-gard for high amperage aluminum connections:

Amazon Amazon

I like the copper.

I don’t like excess wires on the battery terminal and would like to add a blue sea fuse box like;

I will add an ANL fuse rated for the fuse box between that and the battery.

One concern that could be a show stopper is the multitude of exposed hot terminals without any protection from inadvertent dead shorting from tools.

Another concern that could be a show stopper is fusing.

Both concerns can be addressed with a fully covered multi-post Marine Rated Battery Fuse holder.

I found a video of the knukonceptz UB20...I like it a lot more now. There are additional accessories to add more connections.

Yeah those are really nice terminals and very easy to modify. I wish I would have known of those a few months ago when I redid my entire setup.

Two cable provisions One larger diameter and one smaller - can't recall the wire size atm. Hex-key set screws, pretty good size diameter set screws.

Yes, lugs can be bolted onto the sides. I trimmed the plastic a bit to do so.
