Recalibrating odometer and vin on the digital cluster?
Anyway, I can get a used gauge cluster and have it recalibrated? Obviously people are putting these clusters into lower model trucks and having this service done.
Anyone know who does this service?
If you only need the odometer set, many companies do this (Google search). Nobody will touch modifications or non factory upgrades. This is what Forscan is for. Forscan can also set mileage. Unfortunately, due to the thousands of possibilities, nobody has documented how to swap/upgrade clusters. Each one has its own problems that somebody has to figure out how to fix by manipulating the as built data using Forscan.

Interesting Forscan can do this? The issue I am thinking of is that the odometer I can get has like 60k miles and ours has 10k.
I want to get the exact mileage off the truck somehow (no keys or cluster) and bench program it. I dont want any flags that would void the warranty.

And I really could be a mistaken on this one, I thought on newer vehicles the odometer/ mileage was kept in ECM also.
I do not have any firsthand experience or knowledge to offer.

Forscan can only increase mileage (to prevent fraud) so you would have to send the IPC out to set the mileage. I used a company for this about 8 years ago and don't remember the name. It cost about $120 including shipping. Keep photos of what you are doing to prove you aren't committing fraud. My experience was changing the mileage in the IPC changed the mileage the PCM showed in Forscan. Rumor has it there is a secret register where the real, original mileage is stored but nobody has proved this (that I have seen). Maybe Ford can access this data (if it exists) but Forscan can't.
There are settings in the IPC you may need to change. Forscan can easily do this but you will need to read-up how and what to change. Lots of information in this and other Ford forums if you want to go that route.
Final note, Forscan is really a best used as a scan tool. Absolutely necessary if you work on your vehicles.
