Okay guys need a little help here please I've had it at Ford dealership they replaced distributor got rid of all codes but this one, told shop not to fix it since it does run good but took to another shop and they wanted $450 for diagnostic and I said no thank you took it to AutoZone today and this is what shows up

What yr make, model and engine size? If you’re getting that code and the vehicle runs good. Your ICM is working.

This is why you don’t take advice from a part store, I know, I used to manage one! You don’t need an education in mechanics to sell parts.

Amen to that here’s the info also person bought from had 3 of these in truck still didn’t help
96 F250 5.8 engine

Yes sir obd2 forgot the best part went to performance shop and they gave me this quote which of course I said no thanks.

That should take out the guess work if they are doing the diagnostics. Do you have a black or grey ICM? Look up testing procedures for that. If the truck is running good, I would key driving it.

The thread posted above goes on and on. Before going down the same bunny hole the simple question is "Do you have a black or grey ICM?".

VERY common to have the wrong gray Ignition Control Module (ICM), which will cause Code P1351.

Hi sorry for not responding sooner but been reading what was in the post I have the black ICM, still trying to get it fixed will add more info later today

Is your black ICM a Motorcraft brand? If not, aftermarket black ICMs can also trigger code P1351. It's a crap shoot these days.
