So, looking at getting back into the RV scene after a good absence. What is everyone doing for backup cameras, TPMS and aftermarket puck systems for F250?
Same here, Ford Camera and TPMS. Works great and I love the integration, would do it again in a heartbeat. I have the factory fifth wheel prep and a B&W Companion, so not much help picking an aftermarket puck system. I do like the B&W though, it's built like a tank.
Well, that was interesting... Maybe I should've mentioned that previously I had a 2011 F350 6.7 CC LB 4x4 and pulled a 40' toy hauler using the OEM puck system. Downsized a little and now have a popup with self-installed solar and LiFePo batteries and controller. The 100A hr battery keeps the heater running all night when it's freezing and charges nicely during the daylight. Also swapped out the tank water heater for an on-demand model that is excellent!
Looking to get a 5vr and enjoy a few of the amenities but still plan on boondocking for days at a time. Neither the camera nor TPMS are "must-haves" but seem nice additions. Lots of cheap bluetooth camera systems but don't want another monitor inside. The Ford OEM wired setup allows both TPMS and wired camera but is hugely expensive. Someone mentioned that the plug on the truck side is a 16 pin Molex and I may just tinker with the camera pins and see if I can get a signal through. Sure be nice if I could find a carcass at salvage yard to pluck at least the truck side of hardware.
So, ignoring the negativity, I don't use the trailer backup camera or the TPMS yet though I have the capability on my truck (it has the 12- or 16-pin connector or whatever).
HOWEVER, when it comes to an aftermarket puck system, go B&W Turnover Ball, and if you don't want to pull a 5'er on the goose ball (I personally don't like it - I prefer what the semis use), get the Companion for it. It is a rock-solid system, keeps the bed clear when nothing is hooked up, and only requires cutting 1 big hole and drilling 4 small holes in your box...oh and you don't have to pull the box to install it, though you may have to remove a shock or drop the exhaust, but that's still easier than pulling the bed.
There have been a few guys on here who have added the OEM puck system to their truck that didn't have it (and documented it), and while the parts are a bit less for the OEM system, it is VERY labor intensive. If I hadn't ordered mine fifth wheel prep, I would have gone B&W and added the plug in the side of the box myself.
I have installed the Ford trailer camera and TPMS. My only issue is I can't see the trailer TPMS in the "my view" screen. I have to scroll down to get trailer tire readings. Also wish the trailer camera would activate if I put it in reverse. Instead, I have to get the camera using the touch screen.
I don't have a camera. I do have a GooseBox and love it. I also use a TST 507 tire monitor, it tells the temps and pressures and works very well. You do have to do a setup initially, but it isn't bad and you can transfer the system to other trailers or cars very easily.

I have the OEM trailer TPMS. I will tell you this. It saved us thousands when we had a tire go down. That alone paid for itself. Something to think about whether he goes factory OEM, or after market.
Also for the OP, I was able to mate a wireless system to my OEM trailer backup camera. I turn on my parking lights and that puts power to the backup camera. I can then see it on my Sync screen. Very cool. PM for the info. I did a post here that explains it.
I have a 35’ fifth wheel with a Goosebox. Great combo. I installed the ford camera on the back and ran the wire across the roof to the access that drops into the basement. Easy install but I didn’t do the factory TPMS, which is a little more complicated. The camera using the factory screen is nice. I can flip back and forth using it as a rear view mirror, which provides a lot of safety in traffic.
