Not going to put lots of miles on it. Just needs to haul camper and pull the boat. It seems every one i look at has noise in the engine. Sometimes in rh valve cover, LH valve cover, intake . Ticking noises. Is this a noisy engine? Last one seems to have just a light ticking in the intake manifold area. Looking at 6-10 year old trucks. I will keep looking. Ive read about the broken valve valve springs. Anything else?
What you are probably hearing is the fuel injectors firing if it's a constant even sound. If it's uneven it could be coils arcing, broken valve spring would be very loud tapping noise in one valve cover and it would have a miss on that cylinder. Fuel injector noise is normal.

Bought a 2017. F350 swr. 229000km on it. Car fax shows regular services. Got the service body removed. Aluminum flat deck installed. 9ft actual deck length. Big foot 9.5ft camper on it. Just hauled the camper home 900km one way. Power is good. Gas mileage seemed reasonable. Runs nice and smooth. It has a two leaf super springs installed. Rides quite rough when empty. Much better with the 3100lb camper installed.

Yup...when they're empty, these have the suspension of a hay-wagon...I can run over a nickel and tell if it's heads or tails!
Once loaded, the ride smooths out a bit.
