53 f100 new bed kit

Well need to finish my truck but need a new bed. Anyone have a good supplier for a correct bed? Looking at dennis carpenter or mar-k but can't really tell the quality by websites.

I got a bed from Midwest Early Ford in Ohio. If you live near a show that they go to you can pick it up there and save the freight.

I bought the mar-k bed. The quality is outstanding. The packaging is incredible. The steel is high quality and the welds and overall fitment is first class. Everything bolted up exactly as it should. I give them a massive thumbs up.

Same here, Mar-K is a great solution. I bought the bed & wood kit there as well as the rear fenders (which were Dennis Carpenter Fenders).

Thick steel, quality & fit was great and as Bluey Z mentioned, the packaging was the best I've ever seen.

Well I have been leaning towards Mar-k for a total package so probably will end up shopping there. I just couldn't tell the quality from the web site. I like the way they have things listed for easy purchase. I wanted to keep things as original as possible and have had some bad experiences with online stuff in the past...especially when spending that much coin. :-)

Mar-K is the best I have worked with...dimensionally correct, treated sheet metal that won't rust, and smooth spot welds that don't require a bunch of work to smooth out before paint.. Price is fair and shipping/crating is top notch. Here's one that I built awhile back...

Several of us bought beds from Midwest. It would be good to know who makes their beds. I'm sure they don't make their own beds.

I bought my bed from Midwest Early. I bought the complete kit, wood and all. The quality is very good, though the spot-welds are visible. I chose to leave them as the original bed had them. It's one of a handful of decisions I'd like to have back.

They're only 3 hours from me so it made sense to drive up instead of paying for crating and shipping fees.

Looks like it's around 5.5 hours from you. If you decided on Midwest you would have to decide if it's worth a full day's driving to save the money. Personally, I'd still do it.

Or, as I said above, go to Midwest's website and see if there is a show near you. They will bring it to the show. The freight charge isn't cheap.

I am very pleased with my stock bed from them. It comes in 4 pieces, 2 side panels, the front panel and the rear cross member.

Same here. I am about 4 hrs away from Midwest Early Ford and I waited until their spring sale where they give a discount for cash orders if picked up in person. I'd say it was a pretty good kit. Most everything lined up well. I'm pretty sure they bought the dies and stamping dies from whomever used to make them and now manufacture the bed kits themselves.

I got mine from Dan Carpenter, He delivered it to a show for me several years ago. I have not seen him at the last few f100 shows in pigeon forge and sevierville.
