Truck identification help
Hey so I’ve posted alittle before on this truck but I’m trying to find out whatever I can here’s a couple pics of some of the badging trying to figure out if the badging is correct or what should be on it. Also any info I can find by the vin would be helpful as well it’s a 1972 crewcab

Looks to be correct, being the side trim has wood grain. Does the tailgate also? Are the emblems glued on? Looks like it(since they are crooked), as I'm guessing the open holes were for the original pins on the emblems. Just a guess.

If the vin isn't on the driver's door, then you can find the vin stamped into the top of passenger side frame rail, just beyond the battery area-and into the alternator area. You'll need a wire wheel or a wire brush and good arms to get the grime and dirt off. Here is a pic:

The OP has another thread on this topic. The hidden frame VIN matches the Warranty Plate VIN .. It's a 1971, not a 1972.
The Safety Standard Certification Label is unreadable.
While Rangers and Ranger XLT's have upper body side mouldings that are 3 5/8" wide, they also have lower body side mouldings, that this truck does not have.
IMO: The upper Ranger XLT mouldings were added (some are retained by screws that Ford never used), as was the Ranger XLT tailgate finish panel.
The Ranger XLT nameplates on the quarter panels do not line up correctly, holes can be seen in the background for whatever this truck was originally, probably a Custom.
Since all Crew Cabs were Domestic Special Orders assembled in Canada, the BODY code only decodes to what "back of cab equipment" the truck came with. 4 = Styleside Pickup Box.
There's no BODY code that defines the seat upholstery or which trim level this Crew was originally: Custom, Sport Custom, Ranger, Ranger XLT
OP will need a Marti Report and should specify to Marti what info he needs...before spending the bucks for a report that won't tell him diddly-do.

So, someone added the XLT woodgrain trim, emblems, along with tailgate and '72 inserts to "spiff" it up at some point in it's life. Back when that stuff was cheap and easily available.
The door panels are even Ranger style, instead of just metal door panels like a Custom would have. Someone really went all out years back.

Did all Rangers and Ranger XLT's have the lower trim? I see some with and some without and the same for the wheel arch mouldings.
