2018 6.2L, 41k miles. No issues or complaints before today. Drove about an hour home last night, parked my usual spot, came out this morning, insert key. Engine cranks over at normal speed, truck doesn't start. After several attempts, can smell gas, pulled plug wire and cranked over, have good spark. Had towed to dealer, they are shaking their heads.. have no clue what's wrong. Even tried using other keyfob... nothing works. I quote " you have everything you need to fire, it just won't run " . Have read similar issues on here related to fuel pump, but I have fuel, verified by dealer, as well as spark. Put on your thinking caps boys and girls and help a brother out 😁
Battery putting out proper voltage? You may think it is since it sounds normal, when in reality, maybe it's not. My understanding of these modern vehicles is that when there isn't enough juice, weird things start to happen.
Failed fuel pump, the gas you smell was probably from the purge valve. The dealership will figure it out the fuel pump delivery demand module will show a fault.
Proper fuel pressure? Just having fuel present isn't enough for a fuel injected engine. Otherwise, if the tank has plenty of fuel in it did someone pour sugar in it? Might need to check the fuel quality.
I'm guessing that the dealer verified the ignition timing while having it connected to a diagnostic computer.
I had very similar experience about a year ago. I had truck towed and technician got it running by holding the accelerator to the floor and cranking. We think it was due to switching from E85 to unleaded. I have only used unleaded since and never had re-occurrence.
