Installing Pro Comp spring lift thoughts

As stated in the title I am in the midst of the Pro Comp 22415 and 22210 5 inch (or 3 inch if you remove rear block) leaf spring R & R. Some early observations and hitches
1) I am glad I have a lift. Can't imagine doing this on the ground. Maybe when i was younger (read more fit)
2) Do not think that you can do this in 1 day by yourself unless you have done it before. Inevitably there will be obstacles. For example, my rear drivers side lower shackle bolt was very tough to get out due to rust and what looks like a stripped bolt.
3) As much as I tried to have all parts on hand i still need to order more. Shims, the correct length ubolts, and new spring plates as I am removing the stock block and now there is no surface for the bump stop to compress on.
4) As far as I can tell, even with the front bumper removed, the drivers side front shackle must be dropped to remove spring eye bolt as it hits the AC condenser.
More to come

rear lower shackle bolt

Pro Comp vs stock spring. Can really see the added arch

Speaking of shackles, Make sure to check the front frame mounted shackle bushings as well as the rear shackle busing.
Good news is your center pin is plenty long for the shim remember to C clamp the spring together when installing the shim.

fwiw, I use anti seize on the entire spring bolt to not only lube it but keeps corrosion at a minimum

oh ya, Sweet shop setup.

Thanks Pirate. I guess while waiting on parts I will do some cleaning and painting underneath. She could use it. Is POR15 still a good product for frames etc.?

Has anyone been able to figure out the spring rates for the procomps yet? I think I saw somewhere the rears are the same or a little over the stock X rear, but haven't seen anything on the fronts

I use rusteoluem satin black for everything under the chassis. I don’t like the shiny por look.

YES!! Thank you!! I must have missed that one the first time around...man there's tons of great info in that thread. I may just go back and re-read the entire thing this weekend.

I also like to use anti seize on everything just in case it ever needs to come apart. We have this lift on my wife’s excursion and have been happy with it. Considering a coil spring conversion now though

Im still waiting on the top plates from PMF but decided to get after the front end yesterday. Can someone confirm that I need to drop the springs on both sides in order to put the new 22210's back in? With the deeper arch I am having a hard time getting the new spring in place.

So the top plates from PMF finally arrived this week and I was able to complete the project. I love the way it sits.
