DEF forever?

DEF forever?
Is there any tech on the horizon to eliminate the DEF requirement? I have a 2008 F-350 and I am (for the most part) happy with the truck. One MAJOR issue that prevents me from a new truck is the DEF requirement. Too many complications with newer diesels...starting with the REGEN fiasco

Actually there is some new tech coming pretty soon.
A few months ago Bosch announced a new technology that will significantly reduce emissions from Diesel engines.

How fast it comes to market and how much it reduces emissions remains to be seen...

DEF? Change oil, fill DEF tank, repeat.
If you are missing out on the improvements overall in the whole truck, and the power and torque of the 6.7 because of DEF, well that's just not a great reason.
I'm wary of but not surprised Bosch will be advancing diesel technology. They need to restore their good name to a whole lot of people.
