Hey All, i have a huge favor to ask, i am curious if your dually fenders have a clear (clear bra) type material on the front face of the fender. My 17 did and i wondered why it was there until i washed my truck yesterday. The front side of my fenders are just pitted from rocks. I put Gatorback flaps on all four corners the first week i had the truck, which apparently didn't help, maybe they don't hang low enough????. . Im just sick at the thought of having to repaint the dually fenders at 6 months old. If you do have the clear film on could you post some pics please!!!!!........people may want to get a clear wrap on the front side of the fender if you dirt roads or high ways that have been slurried.
Thanks Pat

If the clear film is applied properly you cannot see it and it will not show up in a picture!

You can see/feel the seam. The whole fender is not done just the front side. I had my GT350 done and at the right angel you can see it and definitely feel it.
Here are some pics I just recieved from a friend that works at the dealer

Dealers have aftermarket companies come in all the time and do things "on the lot".
Tint windows, Armor all protectant, VIN etch windows, "undercoating".
All crap with a huge mark up.

I ordered my truck and was at the lot when it came off the transport truck.
There was nothing added to the fenders in any way.
The dealer did the "Armor all protectant", even though I told them not to..... they ended up eating that cost.

I ordered a truck from Ford to get it a specific way, I expected to take delivery that way.
The dealer finally figured out I wasn't going to budge on anything.

My truck has the exact same protective film, same location and shape - it is from the factory.

I have done the same on my 17 (rolled and totaled) and 18, I ordered what i wanted and waited. The 17 had it on the front of the fenders off the truck from Ford watched it come off the transport and did a walk around before they started the famous "dealer Prep"....As far as doing something prior to sale thats pretty underhanded that truck is yours not theirs you had a down so nothing should have been done unless specified by you. I have seen dealers put lifts tires and even exhaust and chips etc etc. But never a wrap

Well maybe I am wrong.
I will check mine closer tonight.
Is this an option from the Factory?
Maybe I missed it.

My 2018 f450 did not have the film on the front of the rear fenders. There was just a small strip on the rear bumper.
I had the film added to the rear fenders and the front (painted) bumper.

It sounds as if the film is hit and miss, its not an option..........my 02 SRW had the film on the bottom side of the rear fender behind the tires

MY 17 has it, I asked the dealer about it because the passenger side wasn't applied correctly and it had a bubble in it. The service manager told me it was applied at the factory and they wound up replacing the passenger side film prior to my delivery. I don't know if the ordered it from FORD or had someone come in and reapply it but it looks identical to the drivers side.

The build date on my 17 is 2/16 not sure if that has any bearing on things either.
