I had a 800amp peak one for my truck a 5.4 and it puffed after 2 or 3 jumps. You would only get one to two chances to get it started but if it was dead it would over draw. I picked this one up instead. Its 1000amps starting. Little pricey but my battery is 930amps so this should do the trick

Like was said above, you can maybe get two or three tries with these jump boxes and then they die (if they haven’t already lost their charge from sitting around).

I switched to NOCO GB series jumpers last year. More costly, but they are definitely worth the money.

Thanks.

I'll look to return it. I bought it as it was the last one. I'll see to order the GB as recommended

Thanks

If there is a 5v charge port use that to charge as the 5v port has better cell balancing than the 12v port.

these things last about a year.

As luck would have it, went to start my 2006 F350 5.4 yesterday and it was completely dead. Use it mainly for plowing, but try to drive it once a week during the summer.

Hooked my NOCO GB 150 jumper to it and it started right up. (Have the 150 series because I wanted to make sure it would handle a frozen diesel skidsteer in the winter). GB 150 was still almost 100% after sitting in the cab all summer and barely dropped after the jump.

Had a tbc fault on the truck after starting. Have alot of rust on the truck; had plugged a reverse light into the trailer plug last week and it pushed the plug in (light didn’t work). Turned out one of the plug wires was cracked and evidently shorted out and drained my battery.
