Looking to Install Newer OEM Navigation in to an 08 F250
I'm looking to install newer OEM navigation unit in to my 08 F250. I've considered aftermarket but, personally, I've always preferred the look of the OEM's. I was thinking Sync 1-3. Does anyone know of the newest model that I could use?
Has anyone done this? If so, how was the experience? What additional parts were needed?
Growing up, I use to install stereos and sound systems in my buddies cars/trucks so I'm not afraid to get involved. I've looked at the OEM Nav unit that could fit in my truck and I was given part number: 7C3Z-18K931-A.
For instance, what is the difference between 7C3Z-18K931-A and 7C3Z-18K931-AG?
Here's what I have:
2008
F250 XLT S-Crew
5.4L Gas
Manual Trans
Currently, I do not have any controllers on the right side of the steering wheel. I know I would at least have to install a new switch on that. My current stock stereo is the AM/FM CD player.
Any information and/or direction to part numbers would be much appreciated.
Thanks

You will find out that the wiring is missing in a XLT to do the swap and the majority of parts to make it happen are discontinued. For the money spent I would do a double din andoird/apple car play enabled head unit. Your head unit is discontinued and the refurb os showing a insurance price of 913.00 so that right there is insane to get ancient technology.

Consider a Sony XAV-AX100 or XAV-AX200. With a proper dash kit it doesn't look like an obvious aftermarket install. If you have a smart phone it will pull the navigation off it it using Apple Car Play or Android Auto (and will always have up to date maps). I specifically looked for the most loaded truck with the lowest level stereo just to not get stuck with the expensive and outdated factory tech. I'm very pleased with the ax100 I installed in my 2016.

Thanks, fellas. I appreciate the input. I have been looking at some Kenwood units DNX593 and up. I plan on installing a review view camera and possibly installing some steering wheel controls to work with the stereo but, right now, I have to finish the towing mirror project and my RKE project.
Thanks
Thanks
