auto trans fittings for radiator

auto trans fittings for radiator

was wondering ware I could get the stock fittings for the transmission lines and the radiator to meet on a 73-79 ford automatic. or atleast tell me the thread pitches because I have bought two sets of the double male fittings and they don't work for the transmission line side. the fittings that makwe the trans line meet with the radiator thankyou

The radiator-side (radiator bung) should be a 1/8" NPT fitting. The male nipple sticking out that attaches to your hard lines is a double flared fitting... No idea what size it is for the male double flare side, but it should be STRAIGHT thread (not NPT, not fine thread, just plain ol' coarse thread).

There are very few parts stores that sell this special fitting, but I recall there is a part number for Napa and one for JEGS or OReily's floating around on this forum.

Resurrecting this thread just to put on a definite answer. I had to cut off transmission cooler line nut because it was stripped. And leaking.
