Can I use an '06 Crown Vic as a donor?

I am ready to work on building SandhillMikes '60 F-100. I came across a 2006 cop car that is close by and am not sure it is a good donor - front suspension and rear end. Probably limited slip & interceptor pkg. Please let me know.

Thanks,
49T&C

You can’t go wrong with the front and people have done the rear but I’m not familiar with it myself although I’m sure someone will offer some more insight on it.

Thanks G-F-J, I was not sure of the rear would be too wide and need to look for an Explorer rear end.

I don't know if this info helps, I have a '64 styleside that I put a 2005 Merc Grand Marquis rear end in. I have just enough room to run CV wheels, about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch clearance to the rear fender.

My rear diff has 46,000 miles on it other wise I would have went with something else just to give me more wheel choices.~Pat

There is a guy who did this with a 1960 pick up. Definitely swap the rear with a previous generation 98-2002 to get better rear wheel fitment as it's 7" narrower.

OK, so I just got home with the Crown Vic - VERY small town cop car. 137K miles and seems to be almost complete. PO removed throttle body for another cop car. This one came equipped with someone's drivers license tucked over the visor on the driver's side. Probably was being run for DUI. I passed it to a local LEO. Car looks good for what I need in parts. I'll keep looking for a different rear. This one is 3.55 trak-loc - will be looking to find similar, but earlier version.

Hey DCH - Don't understand about the sliding window??? All windows are power and all work well. Only the front part of the rear windows go up/down.

I could be wrong, but I think DCH is referring to the slider that's in the truck featured in the YouTube video that dman posted...Pat

You'd have to go to the youtube site and message the video owner as he's not in this thread. Or find his thread on here as I believe he has one.

This is from a google search. https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_t...x-11-high.html
