New (to me) '74 F100 Shortbed - questions

I'll be picking up a really nice original 1974 F100 shortbed this weekend for my son's first truck. It's owned by the ORIGINAL owner's neighbor just so he could help sell it for him (now over 80 years old). He bought it down the street 44 years ago! It's all original (down to the hubcaps - except for a new fuel tank and lines) and in great shape. 302, automatic, PS, manual brakes with front discs). We'll be trailering it home this weekend, so needless to say, my son is jacked! I've had my share of classics including a '64 F100 so I know my way around pretty well. We've got some sooner-than-later modifications we want to make, so that comes with some questions:

- we want to add a power brake booster setup ASAP (we live in south florida and people can't drive worth a dang down here!). I was looking at this setup (includes proportioning valve, switch, etc): 1957-77 Ford F-100 Truck 7" Single Power Booster Brake Conversion Kit & Valve - Pirate Jack (seem about right? any major watch-out-fors with this project?)

- A/C - like I said, south florida! I want to keep an original look and feel but I don't want to go and try to strip an original A/C system from a donor. What kits come to mind? How/where does the compressor on the 302 mount?

- shocks - he said they aren't terrible, but in need. What do y'all like for shocks for these trucks?

Once I've taken ownership, I'll start a build thread and I'm sure, ask more questions.
thanks all!

You don't need to change the brake pressure differential (aka proportioning) valve or the stop lamp switch, because both are the same 1973/74 F100 with manual & power disc brakes.

But, you will need a power brake pedal, because the manual pedal is different.

Thanks guys. more pics coming once I've got her secured.

Actually, now looking at the photo of the engine bay more closely (and zoomed in), it looks like there is already a proportioning valve of some kind. The brake lines leave the MC and attach to it.

So to be clear, to change from my disc/drum manual brakes, all I need is the booster and pedal (either power brake pedal or the adjusted pedal I've read about)? NAPA shows the disc/drum booster for $86 (+core) https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NBB5473009 or including the MC for $128 https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NBB503009

Got her home yesterday and we started cleaning and digging. Was excited to find the original owners manual, window sticker, bill of sale, and Metal Owner Card plate, and the metal tag from the seat back, and I already have the original title as well. Can someone do some decoding magic on the plates?

From the best I can read, the plate from inside the seat reads:
VDSTB 1061018 AA
LSI SK 455 4 A

I can't help you on the decoding but i'm sure someone here can. You should get a "Marti Report" on your truck being that it's so original and unfooled around with.

When I swapped my '77 F100 from manual brakes to power brakes I used the power brake booster/master cylinder, the bracket it all mounts to, and the entire pedal assembly/linkage from my '75 F150 that came with power brakes. That's all I had to do. I don't know if you can reuse the manual brake master cylinder on a power brake booster. My guess is that they are different, but I'm not a know-it-all. I literally just unbolted the manual master cylinder from the firewall and tossed it. The bolt holes for the brake booster bracket are already there on the firewall. I bolted everything from the '75 F150 onto the firewall and swapped out the pedal assembly and linkage. BOOM... power brakes. They work very well too.

This is the "buck tag" for the seat, it cannot be decoded. Codes on buck tags were used by assembly line workjers to assure the correct parts were installed that matched the build sheet.

That "N" paint code here shows IVY GLOW (which I assume is the dark, shiny green of the truck): 1973-1979 Ford Truck VIN Tag Codes (Exterior Paint) - FORDification.net
