Will F150 leafs, shocks and coils fit an F250?

As my sig says I have a new 91 F250. My wife has had colon cancer and complains about the ride. Of course I tried the " it's not rough it's just a firm ride. Well that isn't working for her anymore. At this point I am willing to put F150 coil springs, shocks and leafs on if they will work to replace parts on the F250 if they will give her a better ride. I will not be towing or hauling anything but people so a heavy duty suspension is not needed. Will this plan work or is there another way to solve this (pun intended) PITA. Thanks Sandy

Four wheel drive 150 leafs will work, but you will also need the 150 factory spacer to keep the ride height close to stock. As for the fronts I don't know for sure

Thanks. My F250 is 2WD so are you still saying the 150 4wd is what would work? Not sure what spacer you are talking about. Sandy

4wd 150s and all 250s and 350s have wider leaf springs than 2wd 150s. And the spacer/block is this

I had to take my stock one out after I put 250 leaf packs in the rear. With out them it sits the stock height, with them in it was 2 inches higher give or take.

My 250 doesn't have that nose looking piece. My spacer is about 1 1/4" off the axle. My 150 is about an inch off the axle. The front and rear leaf mounting brackets would have to be off a 150 also but they should fit.
Maybe since I am not a suspension expert I am trying to overthink this. Would just removing a leaf or two on the 250 serve my purpose? That is assuming I can put 150 coils on front to take care of both ends. I can always put a level kit on the front if needed. And I assume the 460 is not to much motor or weight for 150 coils????? Sandy

I have a feeling that a coil spring setup would be a bad idea, mainly due to the weight of the chassis and the 460, but I'm not experienced in this subject, so my advice wouldn't be worth anything.

My 250 is 2wd with the 460 and has coils in front and they are BIG coils.

The f150 spring will fit,but in my opinion you would be under sprung for that 460, perhaps a tour in spring and suspension rates are in order.

Yes, if the set up will work then I will head that way. I just need to know if it will serve my purpose first without fabrication and be safe. Anyone?

If the F150 coils are the same diameter as your 250 coils they will work. F150's had a snow plow package at one point and hauling a heavy plow on the front put more weight on the suspension than any 460 ever did.

As far as the rear leafs I'd take out every other leaf starting with the shortest one... short one's are the stiff ones. As long as the pinion angle doesn't change radically that may work. It's really a trial and error kind of deal. Hot rodders and custom car guys have done this stuff for decades looking for a lower ride height...

Fire up that smoke wrench, soak every nut and bolt in penetrant every day for a week and have at it.

They are F250/350 springs , fit like a glove,so going by that the f150 springs should fit yours. you could also put 1/2 ton 4x4 rear springs ,as they are the same width, 3"s

Stop and consider that you might be going about this all wrong. She doesn't like the truck. There is nothing wrong with that truck. Maybe she thinks you have too many trucks. Let her pick out her own car. Air bags can make it ride softer by lifting the truck off the metal springs. Most trucks with altered suspension are dogs.

I thought about you the other day when I was measuring the gap between the cab and bed on a truck. I am thinking that a lot of old beds are no longer exactly square. Square at the bottom doesn't mean square at the top either.

Some weren't square from the factory...

And you have a good point about the truck. Keep it stock and find another daily driver. Easier on both parties.
