E4OD-zf5 swap ecm wiring mod
I completed a zf5 swap on my 92f250 but had a hanging idle when I would let off the throttle for about 4-5 seconds and the rpm wouldn’t drop very fast when clutch was depressed. I found a thread regarding this on Bronco forum so I thought it was worth a shot and wanted to share the info on this forum if it helped. Lb-Y wire from ecm pin 30 goes to the mlps on the E4OD. On a manual, ecm pin 30 should be connected to gr-y on the clutch pedal position switch and affects “idle strategy”.
I unpinned the lb-y wire at the trans connector c103, removed it from the loom under the fuse box and pinned it to position 37 on the firewall bulkhead c202. Checked continuity between the CPP and ecm position 30, reloomed the harness, and took it for a drive. This fixed the hanging idle, made it easier to shift, and dropped the idle to about 750. Many thanks to those who provided the wiring diagrams and pin outs. Anthony in Idaho
