Throttle sensor assembly?

Hi Guys, (and ladies) I have a problem with my F250, the truck has issues with the accelerator not working, truck starts and idles fine but when I push on the accelerator I get nothing, a check engine light comes on while pushing down but goes out when I let up. My research shows it might be a bad TPS, I replace it and still the issue persists, I know the switch below (I can't remember the name) can also go bad but finding a replacement is impossible. I've seen where owners replaced the entire assembly, pedal, sensors mount etc, my question is where do I find this assembly? I've looked online but either can't find one for my truck or there's options that don't look like my factory assembly. What I see are assemblies for say "97-2001" I have a '95. Are they all identical or interchangeable?

Thoughts? Thanks.

The later pedals are different. Specifically, the connector for the IVS is different. You'd have to cut a connector off from a '99 or later truck and splice it in.

But you should TEST before throwing parts at it. The IVS is a simple single-throw switch. Open at idle, closed when the pedal moves. Just like the switch for the light in your fridge. Test it first. The pedal position sensor is a variable resistor, so you have to test that either with an ohmmeter, or using a voltmeter while it's connected and the key is in RUN.

Another option is to see how the PCM "sees" the sensor and the switch, using a live data device. Do you have a Windows tablet/laptop or Android device?

Thanks for the fast reply! Negative on the windows device, my only Android is my phone.
My issue isn't constant, it comes and goes, if I push the accelerator it may do nothing but if I lift off and push again it revs up, (or not).
I thought about bypassing the IVS but I'm guessing it sends a "reset" signal to the PCM every time the throttle is let up.

Correct, the PCM has to see the off-on progression in order to rev up the engine. Basically you have to "catch it in the act", see if you can get a meter on it right at the time it's acting up.

You might also try shooting some electronics cleaner into the switch.

I removed the IVS (again) and tested it, it checks out, I sprayed it with cleaner and reinstalled it, prior to mounting it I started the truck and manually operated the switch and was unable to recreate the malfunction. I also noticed that the mount has an adjustable screw slot and dimples on the plate, I may have improperly mounted it last night, I lined up the dimples and snugged the screw. everything is working as of now. It may have been the TPS all along. I'll follow up if things malfunction again.
Thanks again!
