On mine (V8) there is a rubber-grommeted clip on the firewall, formed to fit into the recess in the firewall. Below on the clutch housing there is a clip like JB shows that keeps the cable away from the exhaust, on its way to the starter.

Here you are. Closeup of the rubber-grommet type, more or less behind the battery, and a pic from further away.
I'd forgotten that I made a replacement clip for the lower one:
Because of this situation:
But that's where the original was. I have the cables zip-tied to the new bracket to make real sure they don't wander over against the exhaust

JB, the p/n for your clamp is slightly different than shown in Number Dummy's parts list. I've seen a clamp like yours used for the main wiring harness on the driver's side - attached to the bolt for the lower hood hinge bracket, as you've mentioned. I'm attaching a picture showing the firewall clamp on Ross's '52 combined with a picture of the same area on a '52 F-2 that I owned. There's a hole (arrow) where the clamp could have attached, but the paint appears untouched. My '52 F-1 4wd has a clamp like Ross's but it's attached with a screw and nut to a hole that's located on top the RH frame rail next to the front cab mount. I found a picture of Jim Welch's '52 4wd (the nice blue one) chassis and it shows the clamp located just like mine. Possibly they moved the original clamp to that location when the trucks were converted to 4wd? I'll check the firewall on my '52 F-1 to see if it has the hole for a clamp, and if it looks like a screw was ever installed in it. My truck only has the one clamp like Jim Welch's. The cable runs down behind the battery support, through the clamp, and then directly over to the starter terminal. - Bob

Thanks Bob, I had a typo in my part number, I went back and fixed that. I see the clips on several of the cabs for sale on ebay, will post a pic of them later this morning. I asked one seller for a close-up so hopefully he gets back to me on it. I think there are two clips, one like the clip I show the pic of and a 2nd that does not have a bolt hole but rather is a normal wire clip that pushes into the hole but wider for the fatter starter cable. That's my guess based on the pictures of the cabs for sale that look totally original.

Here's (2) pictures of my '52 F-1 firewall showing the "knockouts" used for installing one type of heater. There's a dimple (arrows) just above the lower "knockout" that I believe can be used for the starter cable clip attaching screw. The dimple has never been drilled out. The '52 F-1 was assembled in Chicago and the '52 F-2 firewall that I pictured earlier was built in Richmond. Both pictures are from the same area - the one on the right only shows the lower knockout. The hole in the frame rail where the "4wd" clips are attached is for the tail and stoplight wiring harness clip on a RH drive truck. - Bob
