Width of cab stripe and starting place

I am ready to paint the stripe behind the cab and I thought that it would be easy to mask and paint. However, I got stuck the very first thing in just trying to determine where to start the top line of the stripe and of course, I need to know the width of the stripe.
I will attach a pic that explains my question about the starting point.
Your comments are appreciated.

you can see it in the pics folks posted in the other thread you had on this subject. If zoom in on the pics it shows it starting at the top masking tape option in your pic. A quick 30 second search on Google of 1966 f100 also showed a bunch of pics, that when zoomed in show same thing. From a practical standpoint if you also think about that ridge, it continues onto the door, which is all white from the trim molding on up around the frame, so if you would have selected the lower option it would look funny because that style line that starts on the door and continues around the cab would start out white on the door, then flip to your other color on the cab, which would stand out like a sore thumb.

I couldn't help but notice it looks like you primed right over the top of old chipping paint without sanding it down. Just so you know if that old paint continues to chip you will lose your new primer and topcoat along with it. Up to you, but proper prep work can make or break a paint job.

Just FYI.

Hey RSH1966,
I have a bunch of pictures on PHOTOBUCKET of the paint on my 1966. That site is so hard to use now I don't know if you can get to it or not. (I'm not paying them $400) Try this link
Photobucket

Or WWW.Photobucket.com/1966f250

Good luck

This isn't too bad of a shot. I agree it is in the concave area around the cab in your upper tape line.

Here's a zoomed in pic of my truck, before I painted the gas cap.
