Hey Guys I need to replace the Shocks on the BEAST she has a little over 222k on them ...Momma has put me on a Budget since getting back from Orlando...Please Hit me with your Suggestions..What Shocks you like and which ones to Stay away from...Thanks!

My first preference would be bilsteins but the Rancho 9k series are pretty good but they're about the same price as the bilsteins so...

 

I've only run Bilstein 5100s on mine, but I like them very much.

 

Are these the same for the 2000 7.3L Diesel? I need to get new shocks too. My truck is stock height.

Those numbers will fit with 0-2.5" front lift and 3"-5" Rear above stock.

Looks like it will fit 2000 7.3 also.

I thought about Bilstein (their world headquarters is 10 minutes from my house) but ended up going with Rancho RS9000XL. They were having a sale (4th one free) so I gave them a shot. I am glad I did as I love them. Plus I like the adjustability so I can adjust them for street, towing, and off-roading. Just my .02

 

I used the adjustable Ranchos in the rear of my truck. I took the adjuster **** off and packed the piston cavity with moly lube to prevent the piston from seizing. My first set did and Rancho did replace them under warranty but it's nice to have the adjust-ability when you need it.

Good to know. I'll keep an eye on mine. 91K miles so far and they're still working well.

 

I put in Skyjacker M95s and their 9000HD stabilizer and WOW what a difference. Not harsh on the pavement either.

Went through 2 sets of the Monroe Reflex in 2 years.... did not last for me. both times shocks were severely leaked out...and I do not off road either. Rough gravel roads 30% of the time though.

 

I bought the Monroe shocks once....never again. Bilstein or Rancho FTW.
