Oil filter does not fit on 4.9

I have a 1995 F-150 made in Canada with a 4.9 L.
I took the oil filter off and threw it away and let the pan drain for a couple of days. Now, I went to buy a new filter and the Motorcraft FL-1 fitting is too small to screw onto the block fitting and the FL-820S is too large at the fitting.

What do you think?

i think you should take the FL-1A back and ask for another one. it was probably packaged wrong.

Thanks for your reply. The filter that had FL-1A on the metal from the factory didn't fit. Since then I took a 3/4-16 nut and found that it fits on the oil filter stud. I will make another run at it today.
