About to just go carburated..Or blow it up(Needing suggestions)

So truck is a 93 F150 5spd 5.0, New engine, clutch, maf sensor, clutch sensor, alternator, battery,Distributor, TPS, IAC, EGR, Exaust, 02 Sensors, Fuel pump, Gas tank, PCM, Heater control module, Vaccum lines..you name it. Truck has always got 8-12mpg no matter who drives which is just horrible, Then the other day the Distributor went out on me so i put in a new one and set timing to 10deg, Drove ok has some studdering which has never gone away lately but today it will not start up and stay running when i did get it too once RPMS jumped to 4k and were bouncing and shaking the whole truck violently from 1k to 4k fast. I get codes 11,19,29,18,4 in that order...4 makes no sense to me as does 18 being out of order..Yes it is a 2 code truck, And yes i counted 3 times. I have almost 8k into a non running truck now.. Ford has no idea why and neither does any local mechanic that has been under the hood..So suggestions? Im about to tear out all the electronics and just have a carburated vehicle. Only thing i can think of is my wiring harness is screwed up...but everything i checked the ohms read out ok.

Subscribing to see what wiser folks have to say. I'm confused why a MAF ECM has 2 digit codes, but not familiar enough to say one way or the other if that's suspicious.

Don't give up yet. I know there are some smart sunsa B's here when it comes to the dark arts of electrical fixes.

So I rotated until the rotor was on #1 pulled the old one and stabbed the new one in and it was back on #1 fired up was at 13 deg so I set it at 10 drove it for a day and then this happened.

MAF meter on a 5-spd '93? How are you pulling codes? May be time to get yourself a code reader.. just to eliminate mistakes, the Equus/Innova 3145 is cheap. Those codes if correct are suggesting a loss of timing reference which points at the PIP module inside the distributor, just because it's new doesn't mean its good... the DOA and early failure rate of off brand electronic modules is pretty high these days. I won't use anything but Motorcraft electronics because of this.

MAF FIVE SPEED???? You sure you don't mean MAP sensor? If you have a MAF five speed you have a unicorn..
And I agree sounds like a bad PIP

Maybe it is a map,and for codes I'm jumping and counting flashes, the pip inside the distributor? It's a reman motorcraft distributor with a whopping 8 miles...was hoping it would last more than that haha so would that also explain a hesitation and shudder when accelerating? It was doing that before.

Distributor is probably OK then, get those codes sorted out, there should be no single digits except a few solitary single flashes between batches.

Just in case you need this:

Fuel Injection Technical Library » How To Run a Self-Test

It's a link for step by step on how to check codes.

Yeah thats how i run the self test...thats why im thrown off by the single digit..ive counted it 5 times in a row same numbers, I got it fired up and have gone over that engine and wiring trying to find a simple anwser all i saw weird was fuel leaking around the regulator vaccum line as seen in the picture, And if i can attach the video a video of it running all rough, It takes pedal half depressed to get it to start and i rechecked timing still 10 deg.

Pull the hose off and start it. I'll bet the regulator is dumping fuel into the engine passed the diaphragm.

Truck wont start without the hose connected on the regulator..even after priming the system and pedeling while turning over

I'm pretty sure there should not be any fuel there at all. Do you have another regulator you could swap out to test?

Yeah i know there isnt suppose to be fuel there..Its a vaccum diaphram if i remember right so the diaphram is shot.. but would that explain erratic idle and not starting or staying started.

Just spitballin. Maybe it lets too much of the fuel right back out into the return line. No thoughts on that wildly erratic idle though.
